BASMA ALROMAIH (SAUDI ARABIA, b. 1994)
Basma Alromaih is a Los Angeles–based multidisciplinary artist working across painting, drawing, and photography. Born and raised in Saudi Arabia, she is self-taught and recognized for her use of mixed media—combining watercolor, gouache, oil stick, and graphite—to explore themes related to identity, intimacy, and the psychology of everyday life.
Her work examines emotional and social narratives surrounding women’s experiences, including sexuality, mental health, and the constraints of cultural expectation. Through surreal and cinematic imagery, Alromaih transforms interiors of the everyday into symbolic compositions that invite reflection and emotional resonance.
Alromaih’s work has been exhibited in Los Angeles and featured in collaborative publications and curatorial projects. She lives and works in Los Angeles, California.
